Great Power

This poem was written after I witnessed a close friend lose his temper, his anger at a rage. Initally written in 2015, I saw this could be a metaphor for the rages of the Earth's fires, happening in Los Angeles. A former home to me years ago. So as I posted this song, my songwirter SOH Alex Vermeulen, immediately loved it and brought it to a different title "Shout it Out". As a revoltution to transmute anger and fire ansd destruction ( like Kali or Shiva's wrath) and alchemize it as medicine.

Here's the words if you like to sing along:

Great Power takes its toll

and is scary to control.

The responsibility is massive

and aggressive not passive.

Shout it out and feel

Any known joys

come deploy in feral winds

and wild vortexes

of sound vibrations.

Make some space

around you

Shake

And let your body take

experience in a stillness

at the eye of its storm.

Harm no one

hurt nothing

focus in the enormous wake

of your internal storms and earthquakes.

Trust your frustrating anger

to catalyze pains in life

and provide light

on the pressurized walls

you can call to break open.

Hoping to see

on the other side

there is a wide field

of possibility

So vast and full of ease

Grace and prosperity.

Clarity to gain

and claim

your gardens of abundance

to run, dance, cry and romance

In a journey of endless adventurous

heart centered winters

Summers

and ongoing eons

of living truth.
